Heath’s charming smile may win you over, but soon into the conversation you will find a highly motivated self-starter. Having left the stable go-to career of correction officer here in the North Country, Andre ventured out on his own to start a business that is now servicing over 1000 addresses in the area and has added two others to his team. His success is certainly a reason to smile considering so many thought he was crazy to take a chance.
How does company culture impact you and what do you do to contribute it?
At this time, we are a lean team of three. We strive to act as a team in all situations either on the job site or at the shop servicing equipment. We visit over 1,000 addresses locally every year so teamwork and understanding how each other work is key.
Tell us about your community involvement:
I enjoy sponsoring local sports teams and events. My wife and I have also made it a tradition to visit a local restaurant at least once a week for over 4 years!
Who do you look up to for inspiration or mentorship?
Over the past six years I have had countless conversations with local business owners across various industries. I truly get motivated by those who have started from scratch and built sustainable businesses in the North Country. On more of a personal note, I get motivation and mentorship from listening to podcasts from Andy Frisella. His no nonsense, no excuses mentality aligns perfectly with my vision.
What strategies do you use to approach the day?
I wake up early and get to the gym. Exercising for me tends to prime my mental state to take on the day. I think through my key tasks for the day on the treadmill or stair stepper. Once I get to the shop, I open up my computer or start my truck and hit the road depending on the day. Getting going with as little distraction as possible really adds valuable time to each work day.
What is something that no one would guess about you?
A couple years ago I built a YouTube channel about my industry for fun. It is now one of the largest channels in the waste removal space.
